HEAVY GALE
SHIPPING DELAYED WELLINGTON HARBOUR THREE SHIPS HELD UP (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, June 15. A heavy northerly delayed coastal shipping at Wellington to-day, the departure of three vessels being postponed until to-morrow, the Totara for New Plymouth, the Kini for Greymouth and the Inaha for Patea being unable to sail. . The liner Rotorua was delayed for an hour this morning at the heads by the gale. On arrival she had difficulty in berthing at Pipitea wharf. The Canadian Cruiser also had difficulty m berthing at the same wharf. Two motor tankers, the Pulpit Point and New Zealand, were also affected. The Pulpit Point, which was to move to Burnham wharf, remained at Point Howard wharf where the New Zealand was to berth. The latter therefore remained anchored. The Mau Pomare, which was taken this morning to Evans Bay to go on the slip, had to return to her berth. She will go on the slip as soon as the weather abates.
