SOLICITOR AGAIN
PROMINENT SYDNEY MAN. RESTORATION AFTER 38 YEARS. (United Press Assn—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 10. p.m.) Sydney, June 15. The Full Court to-day restored to the roll of solicitors Thomas Ernest Rofe, a prominent citizen, whose name was removed from the roll 38 years ago after a conviction for conspiracy to pervert the course of justice in a notable divorce suit in which concocted evidence of misconduct was brought against Mrs Mary Butler. The Chief Justice said the Court exonerated Mr Rofe from any suggestion that he was a party to the preparation of concocted evidence. Mr Rofe, at that time was at a disadvantage, because there was no Court of Criminal Appeal. Mr Rofe is 64 years of age to-day. He declared it was the finest birthday gift he had ever received.
