TRAGIC PROPHECY
RACING MOTORIST KILLED. TOURIST TROPHY EVENT. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) London, June 14. The veteran Frank Longman, winner in 1928, crashed in the first lap of the Tourist Trophy race in the Isle of Man and was killed. “This will be my last race,” was Lqngman’s tragic prophecy to his wife, hitherto his mascot in 24 races, who unprecedentedly remained at home with two children. Longman, who was competing to-day for old time’s sake, crashed into a bridge, breaking the fork-springs, which he patched with wire. He continued, but fell again, and finally smashed into a wall on a lonely road. He was found unconscious with his spine fractured.
