Mr M. Manning arrived’from Dun* edin yesterday and is a guest at the Grand Hotel. Mr P. McSkimming, M.P., was a passenger to Invercargill by the express last evening.
Mr J. Hargest, M.P.,_ leaves by the express this morning for Wellington, where he will discuss, among other things, unemployment relief.
Mr G. F. Clapcott, a former town engineer, is paying a short visit to Invercargill. He leaves for Gore by the express on Sunday evening and after a few days in the Eastern district he proceeds to Hawkes Bay. Two members of the Legislative Council, the Hons. J. A. Hanan and C. J. Carrington, completed their seven year terms of appointment at midnight last night. Both members were called to the Council on June 17, 1926.—Press Association message.
