REBATE REFUSED
PETROL USED BY AMBULANCE. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, June 15. Advice that no rebate is to be allowed to the Wellington Free Ambulance upon petrol used in the course of its service was received from the Acting Prime Minister, the Hon. J. G. Coates. A request for exemption from the tax was made to the Minister last month, on the ground that the free ambulance service was purely humanitarian and was being run solely in the interests of sick and injured and was in no sense a profit making concern.
