ACORN LODGE
FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. The fortnightly meeting of the above lodge was held last evening. A.D. Bro. F. Roe presided over a large attendance of mehibers and visitors. Among the visitors were the D.P. Bro. Heywood, A.D. Bro. Cook and officers of Star of Thornbury Lodge, and A.D. Bro. Fletcher and officers of the Oak of Waikiwi Lodge. One juvenile member was initiated into the adult lodge. The social committee reported regarding arrangements for a series of social evenings to be carried out during the winter months. The balance-sheet submitted for the past six months showed: Contributions received, £5BB 1/-; initiations, £2O 13/3; sick pay paid out, £3BB 8/4; medical and chemists’ fees, £2BB 14/9; maternity benefits, £B2; funeral claims, £240. management fund, £567 18/1; consolidated fund, £148,764 6/10; membership, 438. D.P. Bro. Haywood installed the following office. 3 for the ensuing six months: A.D., Bro. McArthur; V.A., Bro. Carson; secretary, Bro. Barham; treasurer, Bro. Low; T.G., Bro. F. Maxted; 0.G., Bro. C. Maxted; A.D.B.’s, Bros Harrison and Anderson; V.A.B’s, ■Bros. Frampton and Harris; secretary, Bro. Gregg; M.C., Bro. Stewart; auditors, Bros. Gregg and Sherboume. At a social gathering the following toasts were honoured: “The Grand Lodge” (proposed by Bro. F. C. Barham, P.G.P. and responded to by Bro. J. D. Gregg); “Acorn No. 4” (Bro. C. Webb P.D.P.—Bro. F. Roe, J.P.A.); “Visitors” (Bro. F. Stewart—visitors). Items were given by Bros. A. Sherboume, P.G.P., F. Roe, J.P.A., H. Mark and A. McArthur, A.D.
