STRANDED SHIP
FOXTON FLOATED OFF. (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, June 12. Aftei- being stranded on a spit at the mouth of the Waimakariri since Saturday night, the motor vessel Foxton (224 tons) was floated off this morning and entered the river, anchoring at Kairaki. She will go on to Kaiapoi at high tide this evening. The Foxton, which was inward bound from Wellington to the port of Kaiapoi, crossed the bar successfully but in making the sharp turn into the mouth of the river caught the tail of the North Spit.
