FREEZING WORKS.
To the Editor. Sir, —Seldom do correspondents reveal their ignorance so completely as did “Audi Alteram Partem,” in his letter dealing with the present attitude of the freezing companies. Does not Mr “Audi Alteram Partem” know that the heaviest, the primest lambs produced in Southland are valued at approximately 3/- a head less than the lights up to 361 b. Again a light second is worth as much as a prime overweight. Modern business is rotten. “I take it that freezing works are primarily founded to pay dividends,” etc. Very true; every company should pay dividends; but not many resort to the methods of freezing companies to achieve this result. The other statements in the letter bear their own refutation.—l am etc., “FABER SUAE FORTUNAE.”
