RADIO CLUB
EXECUTIVE MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Southland Radio Club was held last evening, Mr A. W. Jones presiding over Messrs C. Lockhart, F. S. Simpson, W. McEwan, L. S. Alsweiler, A. Jordan and W. R. Mabson (secretary). It was decided that the Broadcasting Board be asked to take back the microphone forwarded some months ago and to replace it with one duly tested. Mr Jones stated that he was leaving for Wellington to attend a meeting of the Advisory Board. Various matters pertaining to the club were left in his hands.
In view of the fact that the agreements between the club and Mr R. Parsons had now run for practically twelve months, it was decided that all existing agreements be cancelled by the requisite notice and that fresh agreements be entered into by the new executive.
The annual report and balancesheet were presented to the meeting for consideration. Except for several minor alterations it was decided to confirm them for presentation to the annual general meeting to be held on May 17. This being the final meeting of the executive, Mr Jones thanked members for their work and interest in the club during the past year. A tremendous amount of work had been carried out, he said, and each executive had been untiring in his efforts. He hoped that members of the club would attend the annual meeting and so become acquainted with the good work the club was carrying out.
