NEW ZEALAND LEGION
MEETING AT WYNDHAM. An enthusiastic meeting in connection with the New Zealand Legion was held at Wyndham last evening when, despite the inclemency of the weather, there was a large attendance, 50 people being present. Mr St Rice presided. Keen interest was taken in the aims and objects of the Legion. Mr W. Macalister, leader of the Southland division, addressed the meeting. Mr H. F. Drewe and Mr Rice also spoke. Several questions were answered and, on the motion of Mr C. E. Davey, seconded by Mr Bennet, it was unanimously decided to form a branch of the Legion at Wyndham. A large number of members was enrolled.
A meeting will be held at Gore this evening, when Mr Macalister, Mr Drewe and Mr R. M. Strang will speak. Considerable interest has been taken in the Legion at Gore and it is expected that a large meeting will take place.
