RACING AT BROOKLANDS

INTERNATIONAL EVENT DECIDED. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 7.15 p.m.) London, May 6. In the international 250 miles motor race at Brooklands the Hon. Adrian Lewis, driving an Alfa Romeo car was first, averaging 88.07 miles per hour. E. R. Hall, in a M.G. Magnette was second, averaging 82.77 miles per hour. Mrs Wisdom, driving a M.G. Magnette, the only woman competing, was third, averaging 81.24 miles per hour There were two narrow escapes, Eyston in the third lap, goi: 70 miles per hour when a wheel flew off and struck and injured an official. Eyston struggled for 100 yards to prevent the car from overturning. Elmes crashed at a corner when he skidded and the car somersaulted. He escaped unhurt.
