“A NEW BLUNDER”
THE GERMAN PROTEST.
DEBATE IN COMMONS.
(United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Paris, April 19.
In an article in La Depeche de Toulouse M.' Herriot, who is voyaging to Washington, describes the German protest against the House of Commons debate as a new blunder added to so many others. “Besides one cannot defy Israel with impunity,” he says. Praising the condemnation by members of the House of Commons of a revision of treaties in view of the present state of Germany, M. Herriot declares: “Britain has awakened and the Four-Power Pact has been thrown overboard. We can breathe again. The vigorous British democracy now understands what is hidden under the sophisism of treaty revision. It is a remarkable volte face, facilitating our work at Washington.”
