LAST WEEK’S HAND.
Spades are trumps and South, who leads, must make eight tricks. South leads the Ace of Hearts and the 8 which East takes. If East leads a Club, North’s Queen will make and after trumps are cleared and the King
of Diamonds made, the 6 of Clubs is led to South—who makes Ace and Jack, and then two Hearts. If East leads the Diamond, North makes the King on which South discards a Heart. On North's Queen of Spades South discards another Heart, allowing North to make three Hearts and South two Clubs. If East leads 10 of Spades North’s Queen makes, South discarding a Heart on this as well as on the King of Diamonds, allowing North to make his Hearts and then lead to South’s Clubs. If East throws the King on the Ace, South leads the second Heart and a third. -If West trumps, North over trumps and throws East in with a Heart, forcing him to lead Diamonds or Clubs.
