EASTERN DISTRICT COMPETITION. CELTIC B BEATS PUKERAU. Celtic B journeyed to Pukerau on Wednesday, where a most enjoyable game ensued. Celtic B batted first and compiled 137. M. Mallon led the way with a forceful 33, which included a six and five fours. J. Taylor, B. Taylor, King, P. Mallon and M. Taylor.also batted well and reached double figures. Serong was the most successful bowler and sent down several excellent overs, securing six wickets for 48 runs. Due to the destructive bowling of Martin and McKenzie. Pukerau failed to gel going, the last wicket falling with 42 runs on the board, leaving Celtic B winners by 95 runs. The latter team gave an excellent exhibition of fielding, B. Taylor taking three good catches. C. Martin was in deadly form with the ball and secured five wickets for 10 runs, while McKenzie secured four for 16. The scores were: Celtic B.
