FORCED LANDING

BIPLANE DAMAGED. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, December 21. An Avro-Avian biplane privately owned, was damaged in a forced landing near Mangere aerodrome this morning. D. McNicol, of Dannevirke, had as a passenger Miss I. Gunn,- of Taumarunui. The plane took off at ten o’clock, but the engine stopped while still at a low altitude. The pilot decided to land in a nearby field. The landing wheel came off and the plane plunged its nose into the ground. The damage is not extensive, and both occupants were uninjured.
