The long arm of the law encompassed James Anthony Coulthard, aged 32, . a watersider, when he was arrested last week on a charge of stealing a gold watch, it being found that he had been wanted since 1921 on a charge ol mjting to account for £2O 13/- to the secretary of the Millerton Miners Union. , , , , All trade of him was lost when he left the district shortly after the offence was committed. The police said he had told the secretary that the money had been stolen from him.. This was not true and when inquiries weie made he cleared out. Accused was fined £5 for stealing the watch and convicted and ordered to come up if called unon within two years on the old offence.
