MURIHIKU CUP. WOODLANDs’dEFEAT WAIKIWI Waikiwi, the holders of the Murihiku Cup, were defeated by Woodlands in a challenge match played on the Waikiwi green last night under ideal conditions. The game was closely fought, the points being level at the 15th head. Woodlands, however, scored on the last three heads to win the match by 19 points to 15. The personnel of the victorious rink was W. Bell, D. McQueen, A. Harper and James McKendy (s), while R. Dick, A. Peterson) T. Watson and N. Farmer (s) were the Waikiwi players. RIVERTON v. OTAUTAU. (From Our Correspondent.) On Wednesday afternoon a rink from the Riverton Club journeyed to Otautau to play a friendly game. The weather conditions were not of the best, a strong wind making playing conditions unpleasant. Rain fell later and prevented the players from completing the game, which had to be stopped at the 17th head. Up to this stage the local players were too strong for their opponents, who were evidently not used to the fast green. Mr J. Scatter, in the unavoidable absence of the president, Mr G. Sinclair, thanked the visitors for coming up and expressed regret that conditions had not been more favourable. The members of the Riverton rink extended a hearty invitation to play a return match on any date they desired. Following were the scores:— O. R. M. Ferry, T. Walker, G. Sinclair, J.
