FIRE PREVENTION
INSTRUCTION IN SCHOOLS. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, November 3. The Minister of Education, the Hon. R. Masters promised a deputation from fire-fighting organizations to-day that he would consider the suggestion that instruction in fire prevention lessons should be included in the State school curriculum. He expressed doubt as to the possibility of making the lesson compulsory, but said they might be made voluntary. They might be incorporated in the teaching of civics.
