COLAC BAY NOTES
SCHOOL COMMITTEE BALL. (From Our Correspondent.) The Colac School Committee Ball which was held in the Drill Hall on Friday, October 28, was largely attended. Music was supplied by Messrs J. D. Gregg (piano), E. Shore (cornet), and Beadle (drums and jazz effects), while extras were played by Miss Tassie Goodwillie, of Tihaka. Mr D. Wadsworth ably carried out the duties of M.C. The competitions held during the evening were won by Mr J. H. Dawson (dinner), Miss C. Todd and Mr Cotton (Monte Carlo one-step), Miss T. Egerton and Mr Ryan (lucky spot waltz). Those present included Mesdames Whittle, Goodwillie (Tihaka), Egerton, Neilson (Roundh'ill), Burtenshaw, Belsham, McCulloch, J. H. Miss Annie Cleaver (Drummond), is spending a short holiday with her parents, Mr and Mrs Thomas Cleaver. Miss Kitchingham (Greymouth, West Coast), has been holidaying at Tihaka with her aunt and uncle, Mr and Mrs B. Goodwillie. Miss Kiwi Leader (Riverton), has been staying with Miss H. Belsham, Point Road, Colac. Miss L. Goodwillie, Tihaka, is holidaying at Dunedin. Mrs V. Branks, Riverton, spent a few days with Mr and Mrs F Hart last week. Mr H. Ryan (Bluff), has been holidaying at Tihaka. Miss M. Capil (Invercargill), visited Miss F. Cleaver during the week. Miss Remu Rehu leaves for Temuka on Friday.
