CHARGES OF FRAUD
NEWFOUNDLAND STATESMAN. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 7.5 p.m.) Vancouver, October 28. A message from St. Johns, Newfoundland, states that Roland Starkes, the Opposition member of the Legislature for White Bay, was arrested on 17 charges of fraud in connection with the distribution of relief to the unemployed. The police laid a charge that Starkes fraudulently signed dole receipts during a period of several months. He was released on bail.
