TENNIS TOURNAMENT

EASTERN DISTRICT FIXTURE. CONCLUDING RESULTS. The remaining matches in the combined doubles, the uncompleted portion of the tournament promoted by the Citizens’ Tennis Club on Labour Day, were played on Thursday evening. In the semi-finals D. S. McLeod and Miss A. Sherbourne (owe 15) defeated E. Calder and Miss J. Finlayson (scr) 6—3. In the final a closely contested game followed. D. S. Mcleod and Miss Sherbourne defeated J. Calder and Miss C. Dolamore 6—5. The latter pair had match point on five successive occasions, but failed to clinch their advantage, and their opponents eventually secured the advantage point and won after a most exciting finish.
