FARMING OPERATIONS. (From Our Correspondent.) The district is presenting a very green appearance with the remarkable spring weather prevailing, and stock of all kinds is thriving on the early growth. The lambing has been good, and the intake at the dairy factory is much in excess of foitaer years. A very interesting address was given in the Fairfax Hall by Mr Stringer at the Gummies Bush branch meeting of the Farmers’ Union. The lecturer spoke chiefly on the value of superphosphates to the soil, and demonstrated various experiments on lantern slides. Several local properties have lately changed hands. Mr Patterson has entered into possession of Mr Hibbs’ farm at Gropers, Mr Bulman’s farm has been acquired by Mr Golightly (noted for his many successes in sheep dog trials), while the property at Isla ; Bank, lately leased by Mr Quelch, has ' found new ownership.
