COLAC BAY NOTES
EUCHRE AND DANCE. (From Our Correspondent.) The final night of the euchre tournament at Roundhill was held on Friday, the 21st, with a dance to follow. The winners of the euchre tournament, which was held from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. were, Ladies, Mrs John Smith (Wakapatu) 1 while Miss M. Smith won the consolation, the men’s first was carried off by Mr Jim Smith (Roundhill) and the consolation by Mr Holden. The winners of the aggregate prizes were Mrs Roberts - and Mr Smith. Mr J. Popham thanked the public for patronizing the euchre and hoped that one and all had enjoyed the euchres as much as the committee who had run them. Music for the dance was supplied by Mr E. Shore. Messrs Smith and Popham were the M.C.’s. Songs were contributed by Messrs McDonald and J. Woods. The winners of the Monte Carlo one step were Mrs Colin Aberdeen and Mr Jim Smith. Amongst those present at the dance were: Mesdames Smith (Wakapatu), Egerton (Colac), Whittle (Colac), Neilson, F. Smith, Aberdeen, Roberts, Pollard; Misses Pollard (Wakapatu), Neilson (2), Mason, Wixon (Colac), Reece, Pollard (Colac), Egerton (Colac), Roberts, Smith (Wakapatu); Messrs Shore (Colac), Caubin, Dallac (Colac), Broom (Ohia), McCulloch (Colac), McDonald, Goodwich, Smith (Wakapatu), Wall, Watson (Wakapatu), Neilson (2), Liddel, Popham, Woods (Wakapatu), Smith (3), Latchford, R. Nicol, Taylor, Marshel, Kini (Wakapatu), Reece, Pollard, Holden, Mason (2), Holland, Thompson, Roberts and several others. Miss Nyra Neilson, Invercargill, spent Labour wek-end with her parents, Mr and Mrs N. Neilson, Roundhill. Miss I. Wilkenson, Longwood, spent Labour week-end with Miss Avis Laurie, Colac.
