CHILD’S LEG AMPUTATED.

Dargaville, October 12. While playing in the railway yard at Tangowahine on a trolley with her small brother, Viola Sweet, the three-year-old daughter of E. Sweet, a relief worker, met with a serious accident. The trolley backed into a Public Works locomotive with the result that she had a leg crushed badly. The little sufferer was taken to the Northern Wairoa Hospital, where the limb was amputated below the knee. She was progressing favourably this morning.
