SIR EVARARD IM THURN.

(United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) London, October 10. The death is announced of Sir Evarard Im Thurn.

Sir Evarard Im Thum was Governor of Fiji and High Commissioner for the Western Pacific from 1904-10. Prior to that he held various appointments under the Colonial Office, . He did notable exploring work in British Guiana. He was 80 years of age. SIR HERBERT NIELD. London, October 11. The death is announced of Sir Herbert Nield. Sir Herbert Nield, who had been Recorder of York since 1917, was 70 years of age. He was a prominent member of the Conservative Party and from 1906 to 1918 represented the Ealing Division of Middlesex in the House of Commons. He was also at one time chairman of the council of the National Union of Conservative Associations.
