WELCOME RAIN

FALL IN NORTH CANTERBURY.

(Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, October 10.

Steady south-west rain is falling all over North Canterbury. The spring has been a remarkably good season, but the subsoil lacked moisture after a dry winter and there were fears that the continued dry weather might quickly dry up the good pasture and cereal growth. The rain will be very welcome to farmers as it will ensure a continuance of good feed.
