CONVENT JUBILEE
CELEBRATIONS BEIGIN TO-MOR-ROW. The diamond jubilee celebrations of St. Catherine’s Convent commence tomorrow and continue until the following Saturday. The expresses to-day will bring large numbers of ex-pupils from various parts of the Dominion to participate in the festivities. The programme for the week is as follows:— Sunday, October 9.—Mass, General Communion. Communion breakfast. Pontifical Mass. Procession of the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction.
Monday, October 10.—Reception in the Convent by the Dominican Nuns to his Lordship, Bishop Whyte, clergy and committee. Procession of ex-pupils and school children to the Marist Brothers’ School for a sports meeting. Roll call. Tuesday, October 11.—Motor drive round the city for the visitors. Jubilee banquet. Wednesday, October 12—Jubilee Ball. Thursday, October 13 —Afternoon tea at the Convent for the visitors. Concert by present and ex-pupils at the Civic Theatre.
Friday, October 14.—Garden fete to be opened by his Lordship Bishop Whyte. Evening, concert in the basement by the members of the Catholic Social Club. Saturday, October 15.—Requiem Mass for deceased nuns and pupils. Afternoon and evening, garden fete. Concert.
