CONFERENCE OFF
DISARMAMENT PROBLEM. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 9.55 p.m.) Paris, October 7. Without awaiting replies from all the invited Powers, Lord Tyrrell, the British Ambassador, informed M. Herriot that the London conference had been postponed. M. Herriot intimated that he was desirous that the League of Nations should continue a study of the problem, even if Germany declined to participate in disarmament. Britain understands that despite. the courteous tone of France’s reply, it is tantamount to a negative, hence cancellation of the proposed conference.
