PICKING WINNERS. Two southern sportsmen recently returned from a visit to several North Island race meetings. Travelling, however, did not .agree with one of them who could not shake off a heavy cold. They arrived at Wanganui where a certain meeting had special interests for them; but prospects were dismal when our friend’s cold became worse and compelled him to spend the morning in bed. About 10.30 his companion returned in high hopes. “I’ve brought home a sure winner that’s going to bring you out on top,” he exclaimed, producing a small bottle of “Baxter’s”. “See if this won’t fix you.” “Baxter’s” certainly did the trick, so completely that our friend was able to enjoy a good afternoon’s sport. “Picking ‘Baxter’s’ is surer than picking a hat full of ‘certainties’,” was his earnest remark.
