It has been decided by the English Court of Appeal that spectators at sports take their own risk of being injured. If a cricket ball hits a spectator he cannot secure compensation; if a motor-cyclist, in his race for speed, dashes into a group of people they cannot claim against the authorities. They are there by choice, realizing the risks they run.
