COUSIN BETTY’S LETTER.

| —QUOTATION FOR TO-DAY—- : Some people are always grumbling because f roses have thorns. lam thankful that thorns have roses.' —Alphonse Karr, | (Sent in by Cousin Lesley Shand).

My Dears— What a nice page this week, full of active thoughts and the click of busy fingers. What with examinations and working for the bazaar, what little time you must have left. I hoped to give you the names of the stall holders this week; but there is so little room. After the next Mothers’ Meeting in my office at 2 o’clock next Tuesday afternoon, I hope to be able to tell you ’more. As a matter of fact, I promise you I will. Meanwhile senior cousins are very busy indeed working for the Social and Dance they have arranged for next Thursday, August 4, at 7.30, and to-day they will come up to my office to make their final arrangements. I hope they will come punctually at 2 o’clock, and the more helpers there are, the better. By the way, does anyone know who would play for us? Everybody is invited, not only Little Southlanders and their friends, but those who would like to be their friends, as well. Lots of good things have been planned for the success of the evening. Admission will be 1/-, and the proceeds are to go towards buying sugar for sweet-making for the Sweet Stall, of which Mrs Mclntosh and Mrs Barr are again in charge. Try and persuade your mothers and fathers to come along and dance, too. . My best love to you—

P.S.—The bazaar date has been decided unanimously—Friday, August 26.
