IRISH CRISIS
LABOUR LEADER’S SUGGESTION. REVOLUTIONARY METHODS. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Dublin, July 27. Speaking at the Trade Union Congress at Cork, Mr W. Norton, Leader of the Labour Party, said the Government had recognized that revolutionary methods must be adopted to meet the present crisis and that traditional capitalism must not be allowed to stand in the way. Meanwhile, the Customs officers on the Ulster border have been reinforced at all lonely spots in order to counteract smuggling. Forty-six cattle were captured in one haul, the drivers hoping to evade the payments of £2OO in duties. The drivers fled when they saw the police, leaving the cattle, which were impounded.
