With the participants of 32 nations already resident at Olympic Village, only the contestants of five small nations—China, Cuba, Esthonia, Portugal and Spain—have yet to arrive before the official opening of the Tenth Olympiad on Saturday. Whereas China and Uruguay will be represented by one contestant each, the United States w> have the largest representation, 350. Canada is second with 120. An interesting post-Olympic fixture has been arranged, described as the Anglo-American Games, between the United States and British Empire, beginning at San Francisco on August 14. , Fifty thousand spectators are expected daily during the fortnight’s Olympic contests, with the principal stadium seating 105,000, the swimming stadium 10 000, the auditorium for boxing and wrestling 10,400 and six other stadiums with large seating accommodation. Four hundred thousand spectators can be accommodated daily. It is hoped that all attendance records for the Olympic Games will be broken. NEW ZEALAND OARSMEN GOOD TIME IN TRIALS. (Rec. 7 p.m.) Los Angeles, July 28. The New Zealand crew are making good time in the trials. The coach is confident that their technique will improve, though slow motion pictures revealed faults. Nev; Zealand has not entered for the rowing fours without coxswain event, as it would jeopardize its chances of the eights, which race follows immediately, and the fours partly depend on the eight for their crews. The rowers will leave the village next week to live at Long Beach. New Zealand has entered in races for pairs, eights and fours without coxswain.
