EUROPEAN POWERS
UNITED ECONOMIC FRONT. MR MELLON TO MAKE REPORT. (United Press Assn. —Telegraph Copyright.) London, July 27. The United States Ambassador (Mr Andrew W. Mellon, will sail homeward to-day to acquaint Washington with all phases of the European political and economic front against the United States. The major topic of his report to President Hoover will be the forthcoming World Economic Conference fostered by the five Powers in the new European Entente and being arranged by the League of Nations. America will be invited to attend. Doubt that the proposed World Economic Conference can be held before late autumn was expressed today by Mr Mellon, who said he thought the conference could not be held in the immediate future because Britain was occupied with the Ottawa Conference and such a parley would entail much preparatory work.
