She will leave Instead at 8.30 a.m. to-day and return to Bluff this evening. The Union Company's freighter Waipiata is due from Dunedin to-day. After discharging and loading general cargo she sails again for the north via Dunedin to-morrow. Both the Tongariro and the Waipiata arrive at Bluff to-day. The Tongariro will load general produce for England and is expected to sail about Saturday. “ The Shaw, Savill Company advises that the Tamaroa is due at Port Chalmers on August 1 from Auckland to load frozen meat and dairy produce for London. She will sail about August 3 for Timaru, Lyttelton and Auckland to complete loading. The Union Company's intercolonial steamer Wainui, arrived at Dunedin on Tuesday from Melbourne, via Bluff. The freight included transhipments ex the Orsova, Querimba, Chemnitz, Changte, Balranaid, NieUw Zeeland, Temeraire, Maloja, Atsuta Maru. The Wainui sailed in the afternoon for Lyttelton and Wellington to complete discharge. She will proceed thence to Bluff and Melbourne, and will leave the Victorian port on August 10 for Bluff, Dunedin, Lyttelton and Wellington. The Royal Mail liner Aorangi left Vancouver at noon on July 20 for Auckland and Sydney, via Honolulu and Suva. The vessel is due at Auckland on Sunday, August 7, and is scheduled to resume her voyage to Sydney the following day. The Commonwealth and Dominion Line motor ship Port Hobart was expected to sail from New York on July 23 for New Zealand. The vessel is due at Auckland on August 24, and after discharge there will proceed to Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. The Italian steamer Vincas (ex Nome, ex British Baron, ex Rumanian), two decks, 4963 tons gross. 3013 tons net, carrying about 7150 tons deadweight, built by Messrs Armstrong. According to Fairplay, the British steamer Archimedes (ex Den of Airlie), two. decks and shelter deck, 5364 tons gross, 3380 tons net, carrying about 9075 tons deadweight on a draft of 25 feet 7 inches, built, by Messrs Russell and Co.. Port Glasgow, in 1911, and owned by the Liverpool. Brazil and River Plate Steam Navigation Co., Ltd. (Lamport and Holt, Ltd.), Liverpool, has been sold to the Ben Line Steamers, Ltd. (Messrs William Thomson and Co.), Leith, for £4OOO and renamed Benmacdhul. Latest advices state that this vessel left Glasgow about May 6 for Australia, probably under charter to load wheat for the United Kingdom or Continent. The New Zealand offices of Canadian National Steamships have received advice from their head office at Montreal to the effect that they have concluded an arrangement with the Royal Netherland Steamship Company whereby shipments may be accepted in Canadian National steamers at New Zealand ports for the following ports in Venezuela for transhipment at Cristobal: Pto. Cabello and La Guaira. direct; Maracaibo. Guanta, Pto. Sucre, Pampatar, and Carupano, with transhiptnent at Curacao. The Royal Netherland Steamship Company maintains a fortnightly service direct from Cristobal to Pto. Cabello and La Guaira. making the run in five and six days respectively. In connection with sailings from Cristobel to Maracaibo, Guanta, Pto. Sucre, Pampatar, and Carupano. regular departures are maintained by the Royal Netherlands Company. The Norddeutscher Lloyd and HamburgAmerika Line have taken drastic steps toward rehabilitation of their financial affairs At the annual meeting of the Lloyd, held on June 28, a scheme for the cancellation of £575,000 worth of the shapes, the reduction of the. remaining capital by twothirds to £2,475,000 and the conversion of £167,000 from preference to ordinary shares was adopted. With the £1.203,000 due this year in American indemnities the company will • thus be able to apply £7,025.000 to depreciation and a sum of £1,200,000 to a special reserve against further anticipated losses. The Hamburg-Amerika Line has decided to cancel £20,000 of its own holdings and to reduce the subscribed capital by twothirds to £2,660,000, though the £68,500 in preference shares will remain as they stand. In this case £1,888,000 is due from the United States, which would leave £7,685,000 to be placed to depreciation and another £1.200,000 to reserve against losses. Neither company is paying a dividend this year, whereas both paid 6 per cent, last year. TONGARIRO TO-DAY. Tire New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Tongariro should arrive frorq Port Chalmers to-night to complete her Dominion loading for the Home market. At Bluff she takes in approximately 20,000 freight carcasses of frozen lamb, 2,070 crates of. cheese, 500 bales or wool, 150 casks of tallow and a quantity of grass seed and sundries. Completion will probably be reached on Saturday and the Tongariro sails afterwards for Southampton and London, via Cape Horn and Dakar. WITHJN WIRELESS RANGE.
