DEATH OF HORSE
JUDGMENT AGAINST TRAINER. FORMER SUIT STRUCK OUT. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, July 27. When the case in which Francis Gray, a horse trainer of Trentham, claimed £3 10/- from Sir Kenneth Douglas at Welling! :n for breaking in two horses was called in the Magistrate’s Court to-day there was no appearance of plaintiff and proceedings were struck out. Accordingly the counter-claim in which Sir Kenneth sued Gray for £lO 11/6, representing the value of the horse which had died while being broken-in was successful. Mr McNeil, S.M., in giving judgment for the full amount with costs, said it was alleged that Gray negligently and unskilfully handled a horse with the result that it was strangled.
