COMMITTEE RESIGNS
ACCLIMATIZATION SOCIETY. WAGE REDUCTIONS REJECTED. (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, July 27. The North Canterbury Acclimatization Society to-night met to discuss the report of the finance committee. In effect this report stated that at the present rate of expenditure, the society was facing a deficit of £3OO and recommended that the salaries of the secretary and the two rangers should be reduced 15 per cent. A motion to adopt the report was rejected and an amendment to defer the wage reductions for six months was carried. Immediately on the announcement of the result of the vote the members of the finance committee tendered their resignations. Notice of motion was given to rescind the decision of the meeting.
