A Press Association message from Hokitika states the death has oC^’l of Mr John Jerome Breeze, aged 78 years. He was chairman and member of the Hospital Board for 50 years and a prominent poultry fancier and judge. He was the occupant of many p positions and leaves a widow and a grown-up family. Before commencing the ordinary business at the monthly meeting ot the Clutha County Council at Balclutha on Tuesday, Councillor W. S. Thomson referred to the fact that an ex-coun-cillor, Mr Josiah Keys, of Toiro, would celebrate his hundred and third bi - day on Saturday. Mr Keys had been elected to the council in 1883 as representative for the Richardson Ming, and had sat at the council table lor a period of six years.
