Mr Kopelson, a storekeeper of Los Angeles was recently suing a canning company for £3OO damages following the explosion of a tin of herrings in his shop. Mr Kopelson says that tire “tin of fish shot upward like a rocket, fell like a meteorite, struck him on the head, and felled him to the floor. The 200-ton schooner Protea, which cost £l2OO when she was built at Liverpool, Nova Scotia, in 1918, fetched only £3O at an auction in Cape Town recently.
