WAIRIO NOTES
(From Our Correspondent.) The Wairio Cribbage Club held an evening in Gardner’s Hall recently, when there was an attendance of 22. Mrs Steans won the ladies’ prize, while Mr J. Tennant won the men’s trophy. The prizes for the highest scores went to Mrs J. J. Finn and Mr C. Everett. Five teams have entered in the Western District competition, which commences next week. The following is the draw for the first round, play to be at the latter mentioned place: June 7—Ohai v. Nightcaps, Otautau v. Tuatapere, Wairio a bye. June 14— Tuatapere v. Nightcaps, Ohai v. Wairio, Otautau a bye. June 21—Nightcaps v. Otautau, Wairio v. Tuatapere, Ohai a bye. June 28—Tuatapere v. Ohai, Otautau v. Wairio, Nightcaps a bye. July s—Nightcaps v. Wairio, Ohai v.' Otautau, Tuatapere a bye.
