Soap should be substituted for soda when washing silver and plated goods. Add a finely-chopped apple to sultana or other fruit cake to make the cake richer and keep moist. Paraffin and salt will remove stubborn stains from baths. Clean windows with a paraffin cloth and they can be polished very easily afterwards. To prevent cake cracking, see that the cake mixture is not too stiff, and that the oven is not too hot.
