BLUFF NOTES
(From Our Correspondent.) After a visit to her brother and sister-in-law, Mr and Mrs E. A. Nichol, Barrow street, Mrs W. H. Bannerman returned to Timaru by Sunday evening’s express. She was accompanied north by Miss Hilda Nichol. After the recent general severe break in the weather, Bluff again experienced dry conditions at the week-end. On Sunday the air was on the chilly side early, but in the afternoon there was a fair amount of sunshine. The presence of three vessels in port (including the Home liner Norfolk), added considerably to the appearance of the waterfront A pleasant little function took place on Friday evening, when the Misses Betty Stewart, Heather Lindsay, Rena Ewart,' Dorothy Cahill and Sally Stewart gave a social evening and dance in Willard Hall. The hosts and hostesses were Dr. and Mrs A. A. Stewart and Captain and Mrs N. Haszard, the guests of the evening being the officers and engineers of the s.s.
