WAR REGULATIONS
REPEAL ASKED FOR. DEPUTATION FROM LABOUR. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, May 30. The repeal of the war regulations was asked by a deputation from the Trades and Labour Council, which waited on the Prime Minister to-day. The proceedings were conducted in private. It was subsequently learnt from the deputation that specific mention was made of the regulation empowering the Governor-General to declare any industry essential for the public welfare and making persons who have taken part in a strike liable to imprisonment. The deputation also asked that persons receiving high superannuation should not be appointed to commissions or boards of inquiry. t Mr Forbes promised to give consideration to the representations.
