HANCOCK DEFEATS MORGAN. BOUT A COMPLETE FIASCO. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 12.40 a.m.) Sydney, May 30. At the Stadium to-night, in a bout for the welterweight championship and Lord Beauchamp Belt Ted Morgan (10.7), of New Zealand, lasted but one round against Wally Hancock (10.61)Morgan adopted aggressive tactics from the gong. He rushed his opponent and was floored several times before the decision was awarded to Hancock on a technical knock-out. Morgan, who seemed piqued when the referee stopped the fight, again flew at Hancock, who seized both his adversary’s forearms and quietened him. The crowd hooted vigorously. The contest was a regular fiasco. In a contest for the Australian flyweight championship, Vic White (7.13 J regained the title on points from Ronnie Leonard (8.1 J It .was a sterling fight. White had a badly cut eye and was down a couple of times, but fought brilliantly. GEORGE COOK’S CHALLENGE. (Rec. 10.55 p.m.) London, May 30. George Cook, the Australian boxer, challenges McCorkindale's claim to be white heavyweight champion of the British Empire, asserting that McCorkindale must first beat him, Cook having beaten Meen. Cook is ready to meet McCorkindale in London.
