MAGISTRATE’S COURT
SITTING AT GORE. A sitting of the Gore Magistrate’s Court was held yesterday afternoon before Mr H. J. Dixon, S.M. Judgment was given for plaintiffs in the following civil claims:—Walter Christie v. W. M. Hinsley (Freshford), for £5 18/-, court costs £1 2/-, solicitors fee 15/-; New Zealand Express Co. v. Robert Taylor, £1 5/-, court costs 8/-; J. Walders v. V. P. Rice (Gore), £lO 18/-, court costs £1 3/-, solicitor’s fee £1 11/-; Brown and Domigan v. T. Hunt (Mataura) £6 6/-, costs 16/-, solicitor’s fee 15/6. In the defended claim, United Trading and Manufacturing Company v. James Ferris (Riversdale), the Magistrate said he had no doubt that Ferris was responsible for the range and that he gave instructions for it to be supplied. Judgment was accordingly given again Ferris for £l2 17/6, costs £1 13/-, solicitor’s fee £2 12/-, while Adam Dawson was allowed £1 witness’s expenses and £2 2/- solicitor's fee. Judgment Summons Cases. John Junor, farmer, Ferndale, was ordered to pay Dunn Bros., Ltd., Gore, £lO 17/2, solicitor’s fee 21/- forthwith,
in default twelve days’ imprisonment at Invercargill. R. Taylor was ordered to pay Wright, Stephenson and Co. £3 1/- forthwith, in default 3 days’ imprisonment at Invercargill. In the case in which May Murdoch proceeded against B. Hinsley, labourer, of McNab, judgment debtor was ordered to pay the amount owing, £7 12/-, together with solicitor’s fee 15/6, forthwith, in default 8 days’ imprisonment at Invercargill. D. Jacobs, Gore, was ordered to pay Ernest Lee £1 3/-, in default two days in the Gore lock-up. J. McGrath was ordered to pay R. Stuckey the amount due forthwith, in default three days’ imprisonment in the Waikaia lock-up.
