HARDSHIP OF SCHOLARS. a (Per United Press Association.) New Plymouth, March 21. To consider proposed economies in Education, 200 attended a public meeting tonight and passed the following: That as certain clauses of the national expenditure commission’s interim report will inflict serious hardship on children attending country schools, many of whom already have only limited advantages in education this meeting strongly urges Parliament to refuse to put the recommendations into operation.
