Mrs Clark, of Invercargill, is staying with her sister, Airs J. O’Shannessy, Limehills. Mr James Calder, who has been the guest of Mrs Hugh Anderson, “Brookdale,” Hokonui, has returned to Dunedin. Miss D. Pattinson is holidaying in Dunedin and Palmerston. Miss Isabel Hayward, of Forest Hill, has returned from Otautau, where she was holidaying with friends for a week. Mr and Mrs P. Shaw, of Tussock Creek, left on Tuesday to spend a holiday in the Lakes District. Mr and Mrs R. McDougall and Mr and Mrs J. B. Cowie returned on Sunday from an enjoyable motor tour through Central Otago. Miss M. Melton has returned from Dunedin. Mr and Mrs J. Collett, of Forest Hill, returned during the week from a holiday spent at the West Coast. Mrs S. Smith, Queen street, has been holidaying in Invercargill and Ohai. Mrs J. R. Hamilton has returned from Alexandra. Mrs R. Kidd, of Waipiata, is holidaying with Mrs Kidd, senr., Park street. Miss P. L. McLean is visiting Dunedin. Mr and Mrs J. Parsons and family, of Victoria, visited Mr and Mrs D. Wildey recently. The intention of the Winton Plunket Society to hold a Garden Party and Baby Show at the home of Mr and Mrs J. R. Hamilton on Thursday afternoon was not realized owing to wet weather on the Wednesday evening. However, permission was granted to use the Drill Hall, which proved quite suitable under the prevailing conditions. The attendance was good, although from a financial point of view it was riot highly successful. The baby show attracted a good number of entries and the awards of Misses P. L. McLean and B. Andrews met with satisfaction. Besides the show, produce and cake stalls were in evidence and good business was done. The results of the baby show were’ as follows: Boys, under six months, Robert McDonald 1, David Manson 2. Girls, under six months, Moira Gately 1, Valmai Hamilton 2. Boys, 12 months and under, Graham Reach 1, Robert Jameson 2. Girls, under 12 months, Nolene Matheson 1, Vyonne Clark 2. Boys, under 18 months, Kenneth Egerton L Bonniest baby, Graham Reach.
