FORBRA WINS BIG EVENT. THIRTY-SIX START; EIGHT FINISH. (United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright.) London, March 18. The Grand National Steeplechase was run at Aintree, Liverpool, to-day. Details :— THE GRAND NATIONAL STEEPLECHASE (handicap), of £lO each, £5O extra if left in after January 26, with an additional £4O if left after March 8, with £5OOO (including a trophy value £200) added; second to receive £BOO, third £5OO, and the fourth £2OO from the stakes; for six-year-olds and upwards which, at the time of entry, have been placed first, second, or third (by the judge) in a steeplechase of three miles or upwards value £2OO to the winner, or the equivalent in foreign distances and money, or in a steeplechase of any distance at Aintree, Liverpool, or have won any steeplechase value £5OO (or the equivalent in foreign money) to the winner (selling races in every case excepted). Thirty-six started. Won by three lengths, eight lengths between second and third. Forbra and Egremont ran over threequarters of the race in company and jumped the last fence together. Forbra beat off a strong challenge to win. Only eight finished. Grakle refused to jump one obstacle and Gregalach fell.
