RIOT IN CHICAGO
FOUR POLICEMEN SHOT. (United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright.) (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Chicago, March 12. Four policemen were shot and wounded to-day as they attempted to quell a demonstration in front of the Tribune Tower on the North Michigan Boulevard, said to’be directed against the Japanese Consulate located in the tower, as a protest against the occupation of Shanghai. A radical was arrested and charged with the shooting. Several persons were injured as the police charged the crowd on motor cycles and horses.
