As white, though very visible, is too dazzling in sunshine, the authorities in the ’ South of France are discussing having all main roads coloured red, with secondary roads green or yellow. British coastguard stations are being reduced from 252 to 217 in number, but the auxiliary stations are being increased from 98 to 142. The man-power will gradually bo decreased from 820 to 772.
